Pumpkin patch fun

We've been to this pumpkin patch before but this time were able to go with Sharon and Dale. And Tristan was big enough to ride the zip lines, so they had a great time playing.

Sharon and Dale come to visit

Don's sister and brother-in-law came up to visit us in October. Aunt Sharon brought goodies for the boys. I think they were most excited about their pillows and blankets, and of course lollipops. It was a quick trip for them but good to see them, and Don and I were able to go out to celebrate our anniversary while they stayed with the kids. Yay!

Honor Flight

Don and I went to see the Honor Flight movie at a show that was offered by my work. We both thought it was fantastic and very moving. It had special meaning for Don, since he is a combat veteran. I encouraged him to apply and become a Guardian, and attend a flight with a veteran. He did that and was able to go to Washington DC for a one day trip with a group of World War II and Korean War veterans. It was a fantastic experience and one that he very much enjoyed. He also found out that each Honor Flight has 2 palliative care nurses on board to help tend to needs of veterans. We've talked about the possibility of taking another flight together.

Great season Gold Roosters!

Happy 4th birthday Tristan!

We had Tristan's birthday at the farm this year. I decided I thought I could make his cake cause he wanted monster trucks on it. I found something online and copied it. I think it turned out pretty good. We used a pop tart for a ramp and crushed graham crackers for a dirt road. And we added a few "rocks" and lizards just for good measure. Sure is easier hiring Marsha to do it! Oh well, he was happy with it and we had a great time celebrating his 4th birthday.
