We went to Arizona over spring break this year, and stayed in the Glendale area. The weather was perfect, mostly 60s and 70s. The week after we left, it got hot into the 90s. We took in a Royals spring training game in Surprise. Tristan got a few autographs of Mariners players. We stayed near State Farm Stadium and although the Cardinals weren't playing at this time of year, we stopped by and got a few photos. We took a day to visit the south rim of the Grand Canyon, which was spectacular. We did some hiking near Superstitious Mountain, and boys wanted to visit Arizona State so we hiked up the hill overlooking their stadium. We played mini-golf, always a family favorite, and went to a Suns vs Bulls NBA game at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. We also visited the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix which Don and I really enjoyed. We briefly drove through Sedona and saw the beautiful red rock, but didn't have time to spend there outside of getting a meal. We had about a 2 hr delay leaving KC but otherwise travel was uneventful. We all had a good time. Tristan kept saying he loved Arizona and wants to move there. We told him he should experience the hot summer months first! We also visited Don's childhood home in Tempe, AZ where he lived when he was in second grade.
