December

Tristan asked me this month when we were eating red and green M&Ms- "Mom, did these M&Ms come from the North pole?" What a cute kid.Well, here we are at the end of the year and I've had a mad blogging day trying to get caught up with all I haven't done throughout the year. Maybe I'll be better at keeping up next year, we'll see. Sorry about all the sideways pics, not sure why that is happening when they are right side up in picture album. Not sure how to fix, will see if I can figure it out next year. We've had a lot of challenges this year but overall still a fun-filled fantastic year. And we'll see if Don can reduce the number of surgeries next year. He managed to squeeze in another this month after he put a drill bit through his hand working on pinewood derby cars at school. Excited to see what 2017 has in store for the Ferrell and Kirchhoff families. I count my blessings and give thanks every day!
Here's to a blessed, happy and healthy 2017!

Grandparent's Day at Tristan's school. Unfortunately Grandma had a funeral to attend of a good friend. So Mom had to fill in. Not sure I was an acceptable substitute but we still had a good time!

Two handsome dudes, Christmas eve night. Just before leaving for the Christmas program at Our Savior church. Grandma and Aunt Sarah were able to come and watch the program.

Tristan was started on Amoxicillin for strep on a Saturday morning that I was working at Hospice House. Don had taken him to see the pediatrician that morning and got a dose of antibiotics in him. But after 1 dose, a few hours later I noticed he had splotches on his face and was getting hives all over backs of arms and buttocks. Of course this happened over a weekend. Of course they would not just call in another antibiotic. Loaded him up with Benadryl, and off to Children's Mercy again, although this time we were able to do urgent care. They did switch his antibiotic. The hives subsided pretty quickly with Benadryl, almost as quick as they appeared in the first place.

Proud of this note from my little man's teacher.

The kindergartners drew pictures during Election season. Thought this idea from a 6 year old was as good (or better) than those discussed by the real presidential candidates.

Love the trail here in PH. Need to spend more time out here. Very peaceful and calm, most of the time, as long as there is not a dog chasing you!
