September 2020

Tristan's 10th birthday!

Got this lefty a 1st baseman's glove!

We've started this tradition of hiding gifts and the kids look for them and track them down. The kids love it. We did it once and they wanted to keep doing it.

This is Jordon asking "What Mom, why are you taking a picture?" 😜

Tristan and friends at birthday party- Kyle and Alex gave him a box where he had to keep opening more boxes. It was a big hit and boys had a lot of fun with it. Eventually he got to the super cool Barcelona soccer ball in the middle!

Cookie cake! 😛

This monkey loves climbing

Sky zone did require face masks when kids were not jumping. I got really nervous about doing this party and felt like I shouldn't have done it, but Tristan begged me for weeks to have it. It's tough with the pandemic and trying to find a balance where the kids get to have some fun and be kids yet trying to minimize risk of getting COVID. We all accept some risks and have to determine what is acceptable. The few kids he invited are ones he's already been around either at school or with sports. They did have a good time.

Jordon pitching- both boys like to pitch.

Tristan with Coach Williams' soccer team, the Railsplitters. They somehow got put into 12U this season, so it was rough for them. I think most of the players on the team are only 10. They won 1 game all season and got blown out in most of the others. Don may have had a few words with the field  marshall at their last game in Harrisonville. I did not see it, as I had to take Jordon to another event. But it sounded like the last game was full of fouls and unsafe play but the refs wouldn't call anything. So that's tough as a parent and Don's not one for keeping his mouth shut. But I'm glad they were able to win the last game in spite of the game not being held in check.

Boys  helping in the kitchen- I think we were making brownies

Super proud of this kid. We had tryouts this fall, looking for new competitive baseball teams for both boys. I can't believe how stressful it was taking them both to so many tryouts trying to find teams that were a good fit that looked like they would help encourage growth and reaching their potential. Jordon ended up with 643 KC Blue team, out of Blue Springs. These photos are from a tournament they did early in the fall season where the team took 1st place.

This hot air balloon appeared to crash into a field during Jordon's baseball game, while he was at bat. It was super distracting!

Tristan at one of his last games playing for the Roosters. Looks like it was super muddy that day. Tristan joined an Inside Edge team out of Lee's Summit, a new 10U team just starting up.

Boys exploring a creek off the trail. They like to throw rocks into the water.

Fun trail bike ride. I had the day off work and it was an awesome day in the 60s. We got out and enjoyed it. We all like riding bikes and need to do it more often.
